Your Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized training and support: Deliver tailored guidance to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in various facets of independent living, encompassing areas such as money management, shopping, meal preparation, health/medical care, laundry, advocacy, and psycho-social support.
- Develop and implement customized training plans: Create and execute individualized training plans that align with the unique needs, goals, and abilities of each person, fostering a targeted approach to skill development.
- Assist in learning and practicing life skills: Support individuals in acquiring and practicing essential life skills that contribute to increased independence, self-confidence, and successful integration into the community.
- Collaborate with support networks: Work closely with individuals’ support networks, families, and case managers to ensure a holistic and comprehensive care approach.
- Foster a positive environment: Cultivate a positive and supportive environment that encourages skill development, personal growth, and self-advocacy among individuals.
- Maintain accurate records: Keep precise and up-to-date records of training progress, achievements, and challenges encountered by individuals undergoing independent living skills training.
- Stay informed about best practices: Stay abreast of the latest best practices, resources, and tools pertinent to independent living skills training to ensure the delivery of high-quality and effective support.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions: Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required, contributing to the collaborative and evolving nature of the support program.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation for transportation of clients in personal vehicle (gas mileage reimbursed)
- Valid CA driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and DMV report
- All potential candidates must pass a background check and TB test
- Problem solving skills
- Patience
- Heart of gold
